INTRODUCTION TO HOLY FAMILY DAY NURSERY SCHOOL
Holy Family Day Nursery School, Inc. is a private, non-profit, state-licensed Roman Catholic school open to all children of any religion or ethnic background. The school is conducted by the Religious Order of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth. The Sisters are specialized and dedicated to the profession of Early Childhood Education and provide instruction in basic Catholic doctrine.

The mission of Holy Family Day Nursery School is to nurture and empower our diverse student population to be academically successful while challenging each to develop self-respect and self-confidence. Evolving into a lifelong learner and the development of problem-solving skills leads each student to be a responsible and valuable member of our global society.

Educational Programs
Holy Family Day Nursery School offers the following educational programs for children:
• Full-Day Nursery Program for children starting at 2.5 years old who are potty trained and self-feeding
• Full-Day Pre-Kindergarten 3 Program for children who reach the age of 3 by October 1 and are potty trained and self-feeding
• Full-Day Kindergarten 4 Program for children who reach the age of 4 by October 1 and are potty trained and self-feeding
FULL-DAY PROGRAMS
All classes are Full-Day/ 5 days a week. The primary goals of the school are to offer learning experiences that afford the children the opportunity to develop self-discipline, self-confidence, concentration, to exercise initiative, the ability to choose and complete a particular task, to work alone or together with other children, and the ability to listen and follow instructions.
The curriculum consists of both active and quiet play. Time is allotted for sharing, songs, dance, stories, gross and fine motor activities, auditory discrimination, visual perception awareness, sense perceptual development, preparatory reading and writing skills as well as arts and crafts. The overall curriculum consists of: language arts, reading, math, social studies, science, religion, music, educational games, puzzles, writing skills, circle-time, arts and crafts, free play and outdoor play. The children also have access to the outdoor playground facilities.
Instructional Hours
8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Extended School Hours
7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Daily Drop-Off for Students - Children may be dropped off at school as early as 7:00 a.m. (in the early drop-off room) but must be in class NO LATER than 8:30 a.m.
Daily Pick-Up for Students – Parents may begin to pick-up students at 3:30 p.m. in their classrooms. We discourage earlier pick-ups except for special occasions. At 5:00 p.m. any remaining students are brought to the Late Pick-Up room. A late fee will be applied after 5:00 PM for "drop in" status children. (see Late Pick Up Fees)
The school is closed for the month of July.

Holy Family Day Nursery School admits students of any race, color, sex, national origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. Holy Family Day Nursery School shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin in administration of their educational policies, admissions policies, or other school administered programs.
RIGHT TO AMEND THE HANDBOOK: The principal retains the right to amend the handbook and parents will be given prompt notification if changes are made.
